Book A Flight Of Fancy To Find Romance

Travel and love go together like… cheese and wine. It seems as soon as you leave the country, something in the air changes. It’s no secret that travel liberates people. People are often more relaxed, open-minded and adventurous. It also opens your eyes to different cultures, foods, religions, customs and, most of all, to new people.

Away from your home, work and everyday life, you’re usually more open to new experiences and subsequently you meet a wide array of people, all from different backgrounds. Caught up in the fun and excitement of it all, it’s only natural that you fall for someone –no matter how briefly.

Whether a fleeting romance or a blossoming relationship, a love affair is bound to add a whole new level of excitement to your holiday. And there are some places in the world that have a reputation for romance – Paris and Venice. It may not surprise you to hear that these two cities were voted the most romantic cities in the world. Travel company Expedia recently conducted a study into dating habits while on holidays (see infographic below). They also found that 13.9% of Italian’s have lied about the places they’ve travelled to impress someone. This means they’re 300% more likely to lie about travel than Germans. But, considering the most talked about topic on a first date seems to be travel (50%), then you can sort of understand why they do it.

If you’re already in a relationship, don’t think you escape from the travel effect. According to research conducted by the U.S Travel Association, aptly named the Travel Effect, 50% of couples say that being more intimate is one the most important reasons to go on holidays together. So, clearly travel works wonders for established couples too.

Taking all of this into consideration, one thing is certain: travelling gives you a high chance of finding romance (whether with your current partner, or someone new).
