Discovering The East Coast: Aristocratic Tourism In Yorkshire 1680-1832

Treasure House

An illustrated lecture on the history of tourism to the East Yorkshire Coast will be held in the Treasure House Education Room, Beverley, on Thursday, 18 July at 6.30pm.

The lecture will be delivered by George Sheeran, an Honorary Visiting Fellow at the University of Bradford, who is also a director of the Peoples, Landscapes and Cultural Environment Research Centre supported by York St John University.

This is the latest in a year-long programme of lectures at the Treasure House and lectures often sell out very quickly, so people should book as soon as possible.

Upcoming lectures cover topics such as ‘Jack the Ripper: The Beverley Connection’, ‘Dracula in Yorkshire’ and ‘East Yorkshire Scandals’.

Tickets cost £5 each and booking is essential.

For tickets or further information call the booking service on (01482) 392699/392706, visit www.eastriding.gov.uk/events or visit the Archives and Local Studies research room on the ground floor of the Treasure House.

A full brochure of lectures, events, exhibitions and family activities at the Treasure House in 2013 is now available to collect from the Treasure House.
