2013 marks the eleventh annual Beverley Literature Festival – one of the UK’s leading literature festivals. The festival is organised by Wordquake, East Riding Library Service’s unique project to promote reading and live literature in the East Riding.
For the first time this year, in collaboration with Beverley Art Gallery, the festival will be staging a Short Film Programme with films being screened at Beverley’s Treasure House from 10-13 October.
Filmmakers and artists who work with film are invited to submit work for inclusion in the programme.
Councillor Richard Burton, portfolio holder for civic wellbeing and culture, said: “Beverley Literature Festival is a popular and well-attended event and attracts people from a wide range of areas around the country. This is the East Riding’s opportunity to show off just how many talented filmmakers and artists it has.”
Films need to be a maximum of 10 minutes long and submissions that use the Yorkshire and the Humber region or the written/spoken word as a stimulus are very welcome.
Content needs to be suitable for all audiences and the deadline for submissions is Monday, 2 September.
For details of how to submit work please visit www.museums.eastriding.gov.uk or www.bevlit.org
The Festival team will consider all applications received and will notify successful applicants by Monday, 16 September.
