Beverley Athletic Club have joined forces with venue host, Bishop Burton College and main sponsor Southburn based farming company, JSR to organise the inaugural ‘College Canter’ multi terrain running event on Sunday, 29 September 2013.
This new event on the East Riding calendar comprises a 7 mile race for senior runners and a supporting 3 mile race primarily aimed at juniors.
The challenging route is based on the College equine hacking track, normally used to exercise horses.
Race organiser Jayne Dale said;
“there is a real demand for off road races and we are delighted that a running event is returning to Bishop Burton College after an absence of over 7 years.”
“Beverley AC is already well known for arranging the very successful Beverley 10K and Walkington 10k road races and now wishes to expand its itinerary.”
“This event has terrific views over the Wolds and the undulating course should provide a stiff but not too extreme test and appeal to anyone who has run in these earlier races.”
Tim Rymer, JSR Chairman added;
“JSR are delighted to be sponsoring the ‘College Canter’ in association with Bishop Burton College and Beverley Athletic Club.”
“It promises to be an exciting event offering runners a great off road opportunity over a route that they would not normally have access to.”
“A group of JSR employees, myself included, are busy preparing for the 7 mile race so we are looking forward to a great turnout.”
