Beverley Town Cricket Club 3rd XI were heavily beaten by 8 wickets by Hill Top at the Norwood Recreation Ground despite RJ Thompson’s superb unbeaten 140 in a total of 251 for 5.
Kevin Thompson and Tim Fordon made useful contributions as Town took advantage of another good batting track.
Laurence Wilkinson (159 no) took control of the game from the early overs as Town’s young attack struggled for line and length.
He dominated the attack and only Sam Welburn (12 overs 0 for 39) came out with any credit as Hill Top won with only 2 wickets down and four overs to spare.
Stand-in skipper Paul Fleming lamented the poorest bowling performance of the season in a match which saw the 3rds lose ground in the Alliance Premier league.
