Small businesses are invited to a free seminar at East Riding College which will help them take advantage of social media.
The event, which will focus on the potential benefits of Facebook and Twitter, will take place on Wednesday, September 4, at the College’s campus in Gallows Lane, Beverley.
It will help small to medium-sized enterprises to unravel the mysteries of social media and using them to engage with customers.
Gareth Sykes, head of art, media and design at the College, said: “It can be very difficult for smaller businesses to invest time into social media, such as Twitter and Facebook, and to get the kind of benefits larger companies are seeing from their social media strategies.
“This seminar will demystify the jargon surrounding social media and help employers in East Yorkshire take realistic steps to begin reaping the benefits of engaging with potential customers through these relatively new forms of communication.”
The free seminar will take place from 3.45pm to 6.30pm on Wednesday, September 4, and will include talks from Paul Smith from Brough internet marketing specialists Getextra and the College’s media tutors, as well as opportunities for networking with other delegates.
The seminar will look at topics such as the relevance of social media, raising brand awareness and profile, market research, sales and measuring customer satisfaction.
