Colts Sink Ship At Burden Road With Solid Performance

The Humber Colts claimed a 4 – 2 victory as they beat AFC Ship from Sutton at Burden Road.

Under the watchful eye of new boss Craig Fawcett, the Colts never looked in any real trouble with goals coming from Ben Thompson, Mike Claxton and a brace from Mark Richardson sealed the win.

Next up for the Humber Colts is friendly against the Lord Nelson, who also recorded a win this weekend.

Chairman Rob Hunter said;

“We looked good out there, there were a couple of new signings on show and they blended in well.”

“This win sets us up nicely for our next game against the Lord Nelson. It will be a tough test but I am confident we can get a result. What is the point in going into the game thinking, we cannot do a good job?”

Club captain Tom Moore who enjoyed one of his best performances in the Colts shirt added;

“We played well as a team, this was yet another consistent pre season effort all round.”

“We further showed the depth and quality of our squad throughout, by introducing new players to our squad who fit in exceptionally well.”

“All our players are working immensely hard in pre season, and this will be the key to another successful season for the Colts.”
