Non bell-ringers will get a rare chance to see how it’s done in Beverley Minster this Friday.
The Minster, as part of its continuing plan to give local residents and visitors more access to magnificent building, will be opening the bell tower for three hours, between 3pm and 6pm.
Visitors will see demonstrations of bell-ringing and be able to try it out for themselves under the direction of bells captain Mike Robson.
There will also be special tours of the central tower and free cream teas while expert guides will be on hand to pass on some of the special stories about various whos, hows, and whys connected with the Minster over 800 years.
Admission is free but the roof tour at 5pm costs £5 per adult or £2.50 for under 16s.
