Beverley Town Cricket Club 1st XI slipped down to ninth place in the York Senior League Premier Division table when they were well beaten by 9 wickets at home to Clifton Alliance.
Batting first Town made a miserable 119 all out at the Norwood Recreation Ground with only Tony Spence (32) at the top of the innings and youngsters Jamie Roe and Greg Whyley, with some late resistance, offering anything with the bat.
Matthew Mudd claimed an early wicket and bowled well but the Town attack was powerless as Clifton reached 120 for 1 with ease.
Town have not won a game since August 3rd and now need to pick up a good number of points from their final home game with Easingwold to secure Premier League safety.
