Ricardo Full Of Confidence As Champions Return To HPL Action

Humber Premier League Champions Beverley Town return to action this weekend with an away game at Hessle Rangers.

Town last took to the field in August recording a two goal win over rivals North Cave that saw them take over at the top of the league though since then the sides around them have all been playing, and they now occupy third place in the table.

The new leaders Reckitts AFC have a 100% record and are five points clear of Town but Beverley do have a game in hand.

Town boss Dave Ricardo is not fazed, by Reckitts early lead in the race for the championship, he said;

“We still have to play them twice. We are only five games into our league campaign; the table means nothing until after Christmas.”

With the first team out of action, Ricardo has been keeping a close eye on the academy team attending their recent game against Molescroft Rangers.

Ricardo was impressed with what he saw as a rampant Beverley smashed seven goals against rangers to get their new season off to a terrific start.

This Saturday his attentions will be firmly focused on the first team, they have already played Hessle Rangers beating them 3 – 0 at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

Town go into the game against Hessle missing Asa Pardoe and Chris Dickman, they may, however, be unveiling two new players ahead of the game.

Ricardo said;

“We have Danny Bunch again this weekend. We loaned him in from Barton. He has already scored against Hessle and is a real threat and a decent player.”

“Although we have not been playing, lots of work has been going on behind the scenes, and although I cannot say too much I can confirm in we are in the advanced stages of talks with two new players.”

When asked if confident Beverley Town can win the game Ricardo said;

“I am always confident with the squad we have I am more than hopeful of beating any team in this division.”

“Most important to us are three points, we are going there to win there is no question of sitting back and looking for the draw.”
