Beverley RUFC seconds clocked up a fine win as they beat Selby 38 – 36 at Beaver Park.
Alex Fry enjoyed great afternoon running in three tries for the Beavers while Jamie Gill continued to show his class and skill at kicking throughout the game.
Rob Vaux said after the game;
“This is a very tough league, but we have a good squad. With the influx of players into the first team, we are picking up so great players in seconds.”
“Jamie Gill has been class this season. He quite possibly has the best boot in the club. His ability to kick penalties and kick for field position is massive help to use.”
Gill who has a Jonny Wilkinson style to his kicking game it not only receiving praise from his own team, Vaux added;
“Gill has been getting a lot of attention from the sides we play who are quick to acknowledge the lads talent.”
Vaux also thinks the seconds may get a massive boost to their team, he added;
“Although it is not confirmed Dave Worrall has expressed an interest in turning out for us, if we get Wogga in our side that will be immense.”
The seconds face a very tough ask next week when they travel to Hull RUFC to play their seconds in what promises to be a cracking
