A Michael O’connell brace and goals from Daniel Kingsly Jnr and Dane Mortimer gave Beverley Town all three points to keep the pressure on Reckitts AFC in the Humber Premier League.
The Champions made light work of Crown FC as they put in an impressive performance at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Town manager David Ricardo said after the game;
“Both myself and Steve Mulligan were extremely impressed with the performance which included the best 45 minutes we’ve played all season.”
“Unfortunately we have come away with injuries to Dane Mortimer, Asa Pardoe and Nathan White, but we have the players to come in to deal with any possible long term injuries.”
“We produced a game completely different to the Bridlington performance. The lads responded well.”
Ricardo said he is not too worried about the early lead Reckitts have established at the top of the table, when asked if he felt Town can catch them up he said;
“We are not worried at all about Reckitts start, I know we can beat them in both fixtures however I am interested to see how Goole go.”
“I don’t know much about them and there are also unbeaten so far this season they may be a dark horse in the title race.”
Ricardo feels Reckitts will have the upper hand next week when they face Scarborough Athletic Reserves saying;
“I think Reckitts will beat them however, Athletic have home advantage.”
Beverley Town are away in Hull next week when they take on Chalk Lane.
