Prize Winners Announced For Children's Trail At The Treasure House Prize Winners Announced For Children's Trail At The Treasure House

For the fourth year running, the Treasure House in Beverley has run a children’s trail which involves visitors picking up clues from all around the site whilst discovering interesting artworks and museum items along the way.

The trails have been hugely popular, and this years ‘Paint and Paper’ trail – based on the wonderful life-size paper mache sculptures by Philip Cox – attracted over 400 children.

The Friends of Beverley Art Gallery kindly sponsored giant tortoise gifts that each child received after successfully picking up all the clues and solving the anagrams.

Children could also draw a self-portrait for the chance to win a star prize, again sponsored by the Friends of Beverley Art Gallery.

There were some fabulous drawings, and the judges were spoilt for choice. Two prizes were given for under eight years, and two for ages eight and over. The children received a colourful folder with felt-tips, a £10 gift voucher and a laminated copy of their drawing.

The under eight winners were Erin Deegan, aged six, visiting from West Yorkshire, and James Challen, aged six. The eight and over winners were Jake Kelynack, aged eight, and Giacomo Amaducci, aged eight, who was visiting from Italy.
