Degree students at Bishop Burton College have kicked off the new academic year in style, with a jam-packed week full of freshers’ activities. This year’s whistle stop programme offered students 6 days crammed with exciting activities and events, welcoming them to life at the College.
Students enjoyed packed schedule of entertainment including a fairground, cocktail making, paintballing, an afternoon at Beverley Races and shopping trips – not to mention grabbing armfuls of freebies at the Freshers’ Fair, which was heartily supported by many local businesses and organisations.
As expected, things didn’t slow down in the evenings; the nightly events included a superhero fancy dress party, a casino night and trips to sample some of the local nightlife.
The week ended in spectacular style with a Hollywood themed Freshers’ ball, where students and guests seized the opportunity to glam up for a fantastic evening of live music from the lively local band – The Tzars, followed by an epic headline set from the Capital FM DJ’s Hursty, Danny and JoJo, who completely stole the show and ensured that freshers’ week finished with bang!
Bsc sports coaching student Katie Deere described her week saying;
“What an exciting and positive way to start a new year at bishop burton! Every day has been memorable. This is not a week anyone will be forgetting soon!”
