Beverley Town Football Club go into Saturdays cup clash with Hessle Rangers missing a number of players but boss Dave Ricardo is still confident his side can progress as he looks to shuffle the pack.
Last Saturday Town continued their good league form with a comprehensive win over Chalk Lane coming from behind to romp home 4 – 1 and keep the pressure on at the top of the table.
Goals from Daniel Norton, Michael O’connell Craig Muirhead and Jamie Waltham ensured the champions earned all three Humber Premier League Points.
This weekend the side face another away day as they take on Rangers in the Senior Cup a competition Town did well in last season eventually being knocked out after a close game with Bridlington Town.
Speaking ahead of the game Ricardo said;
“We are struggling with injuries, the treatment room is full, Rob Northen out for a couple of months and Dane Mortimer absent for a further two weeks.”
“It will be a case of a number of players having to play at 70% fitness levels in order to get through to the next round.
“However with no fixture next week it gives the players some time to recover before our first ever National Cup game later in the month.”
Ricardo clearly has one eye on this cup, despite his side playing bigger competitions this season the gaffer would dearly like to lead his side out in the final at the KC Stadium, he said;
“This is a competition I want to do well in. I feel we have the ability to beat any team in this competition.”
“To with a final at the KC Stadium with Beverley Town would be great achievement.”
