Local Girl Selected For International Beauty Pageant

Local resident Jessica McAndrew-Woods has been selected to represent England in an exciting beauty pageant being held in Disneyland Paris!

Jessica from Beverley has been chosen by the Face Of The Globe organisation to compete at the Grand Finals in Disneyland from 20th – 27th October.

The contest has four age categories ranging from 5 years and up, and Jessica who is 21 years old, was in the Senior Category of the regional heat ‘Face of the North East’ in which she won 3 titles including; Best in Disney, Best in Interview and an overall 2nd place. Due to this success Jessica has been invited to compete in the international Grand Finals.

Jessica has recently graduated her BA (Hons) Degree in Dance from Hull College and plans to further her education and become a secondary school teacher. She has never competed in anything such as this before and feels extremely honoured and excited to be taking part. She will be accompanied on the trip by her best friend Sammii Whittles and both girls cant wait to meet all the other contestants who will be arriving in London from all over the world to compete in this week long event!

Jessica is a very confident, articulate and friendly girl, and hopes that the interviews with the judges on the day will show this side of her personality, as the finalists will be judged not just on looks, but also their personalities, and awards such as Miss Publicity and Miss Charity in aid of Rainbow Child Foundation (No 327489) which was founded by X Factor and Dancing On Ice star Chico Slimani.

You can follow Jessica’s progress in the contest at www.FaceOfTheGlobe.com as full results will be published on their website, or purchase tickets online to come along and support Jessica on the night.
