Beverley RUFC head across the Pennines this weekend as they take on Waterloo in the National League North 3.
So far, this season Waterloo have struggled in the league and find themselves near the bottom of the table.
Waterloo’s slow start has been put down to an injury crisis at the club, and the Beaver’s may be able to turn this to their advantage as they look to avoid back to back defeats.
Last weekend, Beverley were beaten at home by Stockport after a lack lustre performance saw the visitors win by 14 points.
Speaking ahead of the game coach Anthony Posa said;
“’We refuse as a squad to find excuses for any performance, but to not have so many players unavailable in the one area is decidedly unlucky.”
“Having said that, the best team won on the day, and we will be better for the experience.”
“Going forward, we will take the positives out of that last 30 minutes and hopefully have a good proportion of our injured guys back for our next challenge this week.”
Despite this, Posa is confident his side can get something from the game and with the first choice front row Kris Renwick, Sam
Kerry and Alex Ogilvie all showing good signs that they will be fit for the match.
Last time Beverley faced Waterloo was back in March 2012 with Beverley coming from behind to register a memorable victory at Beaver Park.
A similar performance and a result would be welcome news for the club who has won three of their matches and lost for this season.
