Town Come From Behind To Seal The Points

Beverley Town Reserves came from behind to claim all three points in the East Riding County League.

Two goals from man of the match Danny Walker, one from Matthew Dixon and Asa Pardoe and an own goal ensured Town maintained their unbeaten start to the season.

A poor defensive show in the first half saw the Town go into the break trailing 4 – 2 against St George’s FC.

Changes were made at the break that saw Pardoe move to centre back and Tom Proud move to midfield which proved a stroke of genius as Town clawed back the deficit to win.

Manager Gary Proud told HU17.net;

“Our first half display was awful, we could not defend set plays and that proved costly to us.”

“In the second half we looked more solid and began to play our game, all in all the a much better performance in the second period.”

Three points mean Town’s Reserves are now second in the Premier Division of the East Riding County League. Next weekend they are again at home as they host Driffield Rangers a match they should win.

Proud said;

“On paper we should beat Rangers, but you do not win games on paper and it is important the players go into the game focused.”

“We are delighted with the start we have had this season and will be confident going into the match with Rangers at Norwood.”

“Our goal is to get another three points, we have a game in hand on the league leaders and if we were to win that we would be top.”
