Beverley Town claimed all three points at the Norwood Recreation Ground thanks to goals from Rob Northen and Jamie Waltham.
The Champions could have won by five or six goals according to manager Dave Ricardo but maximum points today keeps them hot on the heels of league leaders Reckitts AFC.
Ricardo singled out his brother Jonny Ricardo for special praise;
“Jonny played his best game in a town shirt for a long time, he was immense.”
“I thought Michael O’Connell had an excellent match in a game we could have won by five or six goals.”
Town grabbed a goal in each half, the first coming from the prolific Northen and the second from, Waltham who came off the bench score.
Town remain second in the Humber Premier League three points behind Reckitts. With two games in hand gaffer Ricardo remains unfazed about being in second place.
The top two sides will go head to head in a couple of weeks but before that Town face a tough away day at Hull & East Riding Sports Club, where they will play third placed Sculcoates Amateurs.
Reckitts remain top after clocking up a four nil win against St Andrews, the side Town were drawn against in the quarter finals of the East Riding Senior Cup.
