This year Dove House Hospice’s ‘Make a Will Fortnight’ has been more successful than ever before. In October, the firm supported the Hospice by offering new Wills and Will reviews to the general public, waiving their usual fee in exchange for a donation to the charity.
Having now collated the fees, the firm is delighted to announce they have raised just under £6,000 in fees and over £40,000 in legacies.

“The message we want to convey is that making a Will is a simple process and it puts the mind at ease to know that an individual’s wishes upon death and their financial affairs will be carried out as they request in the Will.”
“Having a Will applies to parents, property owners, married couples or those that are just living together, grandparents and anyone who has money in the bank or is getting a divorce. Without a Will there is little power to choose how assets are dealt with upon death. Not having a Will can cause arguments and ill feeling within the family during a very sad time.”
“It is very interesting that we have also allocated £40,000 in legacies. The people of Hull and the East Riding want to see Dove House Hospice benefit from their estate once they have passed away. I believe the Hospice is a special place for many people locally as the care and services they provide for respite and end of life care is second to none. It is a great cause to support.”

“The total amount raised by all firms has yet to be confirmed, as money is still being collected when Wills are finalised. But we are well on the way to our target of between £8,000 and £10,000, which is fantastic. Some people have also left generous sums in legacy to Dove House Hospice in their Will, which is incredibly thoughtful and helps us to ensure a future for hospice care in Hull and the East Riding.”
