Humber Premier League Champions Beverley Town suffered their second set back in two weeks as they were dumped out of the cup by Sculcoates Amateurs.
The sides meeting for the second time in as many weeks needed a penalty shootout to settle a lively game that saw Jamie Waltham and town gaffer Dave Ricardo both getting red cards.
Andrew Stott opened the scoring for the home side but he saw his goal cancelled out in the second half by Michael Gawthorpe as the sides drew 1-1 after extra time.
The match however will be remembered for the ugly scenes that followed after Waltham was shown a straight red card by referee John Key.
Waltham reacted taking the card from Key and then tossed it away, other players needed to step in to calm the situation before play could resume.
With their backs against the wall Town managed to see the game out and force penalties.
Skipper Michael O’Connell and Rob Northen both missed as Sculcoates progressed to the next round of the Whiteheads Fish & Chip Cup.
Beverley Town’s Ross Cording said after the game;
“We lacked a little in the final third again this week but to play for 50 minutes with ten men and not be beaten in normal time was pleasing.”
When asked about the red cards Cording said;
“Harsh, but one was fair.”
Beverley Town next return to league action on the 21st December when they welcome Bridlington Town Sports Club to the Norwood Recreation Ground.

Problems with handling success by the look of it. Town look like they need to learn how to cope with the bad times as success does not last forever
Waltham is a disgrace. Attacked a referee when he played for us at Scarborough and up to his old tricks again. Should be banned sine die.
