Gareth Jones has crossed the line to complete his 12th long distance run in 12 months.
Gareth has been running in races including the Beverley 10K around Yorkshire for the past year to raise money for Dove House Hospice.
On Saturday Gareth pulled on his running shoes and was joined by two friends, Andy Martin and Al Walton as they ran from Hull to Beverley.
The trio covered a distance of 14km completing the final leg of what has been an epic journey for Gareth which came to an end at the Dove House Hospice shop in Dyer Lane.
His adventure started in East Yorkshire back in January when he took part in what was to be the longest distance he covered, the Ferriby 10 Mile.
He has since travelled around Yorkshire running in Leeds, Doncaster and Sheffield but his favourite runs were the ones in the villages.
When asked if he would continue running Gareth said;
“I am happy it’s over now as the worst part of it was the logistics of getting round all the towns in Yorkshire usually at 9am on a Sunday! The running part wasn’t too bad.”
“I am going to have a break from long distance running for a couple of months – it’ll probably be the Beverley 10k when I get going again.”
So far his efforts have raised a total of £535 but with his employer, Eurofit offering match what he raises the total is already more than a £1000.
