Beverley Town remain third in the Humber Premier League after beating Bridlington Sports Club at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
In their final game of 2013 Town made light work of Bridlington thrashing them 9 – 0 to end the year on a high.
With the sides level the game turned in Beverley’s favour when Bridlington conceded a penalty and were reduced to ten men.
Town skipper Michael O’Connell made no mistake from the spot to give the home side the lead placing the ball to the left of the keeper.
From that moment the game became a one way affair with the champions going on to add eight more goals and securing all three points.
Town are nine points behind Humber Premier Leaders Reckitts AFC beat Hessle Rangers. Goole United have moved into fourth place after comfortable win over St Andrews.
Beverley Town return to action in the new year with a home game against the bottom side Westella & Willerby.
