Impressive Beverley RUFC will be looking to maintain their fine form of late when they entertain yet another high flying National Three North side in Wakefield’s Sandal RUFC this Saturday at Beaver Park. Sandal themselves are unbeaten in six games, and seem to always be there or thereabouts when it comes to the promotion race in the League.
Beverley too will be full of confidence, following their upset bonus point victory at second placed Rossendale last weekend. Though for those that have been following the Beavers progress closely, and their consistent improvement, it was perhaps less of a surprise to. However Head Coach Anthony Posa is under no illusions to the task that face his men this week. Commenting today, he said ‘ I have a massive amount of respect for Sandal, they are a quality side across the board. We had to bring out our ‘A’ game at times when we ended their impressive home record earlier in the season at Wakefield, and there is no doubt we will have to be on top of our game again if we are to reach the result we are demanding from ourselves this week.’
Posa’s side is again hampered by the usual injury ‘merry-go-round’ that is becoming the weekly norm at Beaver Park. Brothers Tom & Mark Steadman, James Mckay, Sam Kerry and Tony Riby are all out injured and look set to be joined by Tom Carr and the promising Robbie Davidson, who were both victims of Saturdays clash in Lancashire. Offsetting that blow somewhat, are the expected returns of Richard Bussey and Goran Jelencic who were both unavailable last week.
