Late Cobare Strike Earns Goole The Spoils

Goole AFC registered their first win under new boss Curtis Woodhouse as they beat Lincoln United at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds.

The Vikings found themselves a goal down after Daniel Brooks put the visitors ahead in the 11th minute.

Goole pressed and came close hitting the bar before getting back on level terms in the 45th minute courtesy of an own goal by Sean Wright.

With the match threatening to end as a draw Goole got their reward in the final moments of the match with Samuel Colbear scoring from close range to secure all three points.

Club Secretary Andy Morris said after the game;

“This was a our first win for a while which was good although the quality of the game was spoilt by the conditions.”

“Colbear was my man of the match, it was his first start in a while and played very well getting his reward with the winning goal.”

Goole are at home again next weekend when they host the league leaders Halesowen Town.

Final Score: Goole AFC 2 Lincoln United 1
