Beverley Town will welcome Goole United for what promises to be a mouth watering encounter between inform sides.
Goole sent a clear message to side in the Humber Premier League that they mean business becoming only the second side to beat Reckitts this season.
Town Manager Dave Ricardo told HU17.net feels that a draw would not be a disaster for Town, he said;
“Goole United are a good team, they have continued where they left off last season and showed their class by beating a top side in Reckitts AFC.”
“Although I feel we have enough to beat Goole if we come away with a draw and get a point from the game I would be happy with that as it would be another step towards our goal of reclaiming the title.”
Ricardo is still missing a number of players the game this Saturday, Jamie Waltham and Rob Northen are still both suspended while James Whittingham is also side lined for the visit of Goole.
The squad has been given a boost with the return of Asa Pardoe, Adam Nicholson, Jonny Ricardo and Jamie Forrester yet Ricardo still refuses to reveal what his selection will be.
Speaking about the squad and their fitness Ricardo said;
“We have a lot of fixtures in the coming weeks, we are challenging on a lot of fronts so I will be selecting my team from the 19 lads on the Saturday.”
“We have had the guys in the gym taking park in boxercise and spinning classes in an attempt to keep them in top shape and peak fitness.”
Town will most likely continue to play 4-3-3 a formation that has served them well all season. If they are to retain their title they will need to be on top form in each of their games, something Ricardo is aware of he said;
“Saturday signifies the start of final drive of the campaign. Of course a win would be perfect for us though any sort of result will do given the games in hand we have in the league.”
Skipper Michael O’connell said the team will go into the game with Goole full of confidence after their cup triumph against St Andrews and thinks the side will win. The midfielder who has scored six times in his last three matches for Town told HU17.net;
“We are strong at home and in good form, we need to win after Reckitts lost last week. If we start quick on Saturday then Goole will find it difficult to play against us.”
Beverley Town occupy third place in the Humber Premier League some twelve points behind Reckitts though do have five games in hand.
The title is still in their own hands and they only need to avoid defeat on Saturday against a strong Goole side to retain that advantage.
