Crews from Beverley Fire Station have joined what is the largest multi-agency deployment as the nation comes together to deal with the floods.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service have deployed a High Volume Pump with a capacity of 7000 litres of water a minute, around 7 times the capacity of a standard fire appliance.

“We have five men in the crew to operate and deploy the High Volume Pump which is a national asset with only one in the Humberside Service area based at Beverley Fire Station.”
“We are rotating the crews every four days due to the arduous working conditions in Southern England.”
The High Volume Pump is one of 41 national assets deployed in the region. it last saw action in Beverley back in January 2013 to deal with the flood risk to homes Willow Grove after the snow began to thaw out.
Shaun added;
“This is the largest multi-agency deployment ever known in the UK on a scale never seen before.”
“We are happy to assist colleagues anywhere in the country as they would us if we requested assistance.”
