Hull Sharks Seb Burggy has paid tribute to team mate Michael Sonariwo after the wide receiver got on the end of his 70-yard touchdown pass.
Burggy who shares the role of Quarter Back was delighted after landing his first TD pass of the season and the supporters who backed the team declaring their match with Teesside Cougars as ‘great game to watch.’
Burggy told HU17.net;
“This game was great to watch and play in. Teesside played admirably despite having a much smaller squad than ours.”
“I threw my first touchdown pass of the season in the match too. It was made far more difficult to complete as I was being tackled at the time.”
Burggy’s pass set a new record for the longest offensive play of the season for the Hull Sharks as the team’s top scorer Sonariwo caught the ball and ran into the end zone completing the play;
Burggy added;
“Huge credit has to Sonariwo for an immense catch and run after to make the score. Matthew Kay had a prominent game as did all the running backs.”
“The whole team performed well. Numerous players went on for their first time and showed promise, while the somewhat diminished offensive line held strong.”
“Our defence did a great job again, and they forced plenty of turnovers. They got their reward becoming the only team to hold Teesside to zero points all season.”
“To top it off this game has sealed our place into the plate playoffs where we will probably travel to Liverpool or Kent.”
Burggy also paid tribute to the supporters and cheerleaders who relentlessly backed the team from a packed sideline, he added;
“We had a great turnout at the game and would like to thank everybody for their extensive support, especially the cheerleaders. Support is always appreciated by the whole team.”
