Beverley Memorial Hall will be holding a re-launch open day on Saturday 29 March from 1:00pm to 5:00pm to celebrate the recent completion of refurbishment works.
After almost 10 years of uncertainty which almost saw the closure of the Hall, refurbishment work started in early 2012, financed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council using the proceeds from the sale of the Picture Playhouse. The work was carried out in three phases so as not to interfere with peek booking times and included the replacement of the roof, electrical and heating systems, all of the windows and a re-model of the frontage to allow much improved accessibility.
Trust Chairman, Paul Jenkinson said “We are delighted with the refurbishment, which has gone far further than we ever dreamed possible. The look of the inside and the outside of the Hall has been transformed and the feedback from our users has been overwhelmingly positive. We can not thank the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and it’s project team who worked on the building enough. “
To celebrate the refurbishment, the Hall is holding a re-launch open event on Saturday 29 March from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and would welcome anyone to drop in and see what we have to offer. The Trust believes that anyone who has not been in the hall since the work started will be amazed at the difference they see.
Hall Manager, Annette Bedford said;
“We are really looking forward to this open day and hope that many people will take the time to come in and see what we have to offer. Many people who hire the Hall think that we are owned and run by the East Riding Council but it is actually owned and managed by a charitable trust. We are becoming an increasingly popular wedding venue because of the size of our main hall plus our bar and stage facilities.”
