MP Sleeps Rough At Beverley Minster In Aid Of Homeless Charity

Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, Graham Stuart joined local charity SASH for a sleep-out at Beverley Minister to raise money to help prevent homelessness in young people.

Commenting about the event, Graham said;

“SASH is a small local charity that works to prevent youth homelessness in East Riding, North Yorkshire, and York by offering shelter and support to find permanent accommodation. This group is making a real difference to the lives of young people in crisis by recognising that a little bit of help now will secure a much brighter long term future.”

“It was a good night at Beverley Minister on Saturday, spirits were high and I was pleased to be taking part in the event. Equally, I was conscious of the cold, damp, weariness and despair that must be felt by those who face life on the streets every day. It’s really important that we do all we can to break this cycle and get young homeless people back on track.

“My fundraising page will be open for a few more weeks so please consider making a donation to SASH and help a young person in crisis. You can give online by going to http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/GrahamStuart or send a cheque made payable to ‘SASH’ to 107 – 109 Walmgate, York YO1 9UA. Donations to the charity can also be left at the Cherry Tree Advice Centre in Beverley.

“Any contribution to SASH, no matter how big or small, will go a long way to helping someone in need.”
