Beverley RUFC entertain Morley at Beaver Park on Saturday at 3pm in the final game of the season.
The Beavers will do so with guarded confidence having overturned potential league Champions as they beat the high flying Huddersfield last weekend in their own back yard.
Club captain Junior Tupai will return, as possibly will Goran Jelencic and Lee Birch. Offsetting this Joe Pickets, unfortunately is suspended following his red card at Huddersfield and several other players received knocks. The selection will be made after training on Thursday evening.
Head Coach Anthony Posa, although not at Huddersfield, has studied the video of the game and said;
“I was over the moon with that result last Saturday and looking at the way the young inexperienced lads stood up to the plate, it makes the injury problems and Joe’s suspension almost irrelevant, valuable player as he is. I am confident that whoever comes into the side for Saturday will do the job.”
To have finished the season so well placed in the League with the limited resources is a tribute to everyone at Beverley Rugby Club. It is however very likely that there will be some departures and retirements again this year.
On the positive side the promise shown by the youngsters in the Junior section augers well for the future.
