In April, members of the Beverley Building Society voted with their feet in a closely contested ‘animal special’ version of the charity of the month.
Eventually it was RSPCA Hull and East Riding that narrowly clinched victory ahead of Hessle Dog Rescue and Save the Rhino.
Based on Clough Road in Hull, the local RSPCA branch care for over 120 animals and re-homes numerous cats, dogs, rabbits and the occasional duckling each year.
The branch also organise local fundraising events to support animal welfare work and give advice of how the public can reduce the number of animal cruelty cases.
The Society’s Charity of the Month campaign has so far supported twenty-eight different charities donating a total of £7,000.
If you have a charity that you would like to be entered into the Beverley’s competition you can call on 01482 881510 or email michael.plaster@beverleybs.co.uk.
