Beverley Racecourse will welcome back the popular themed day ‘A very British Race Day’ on Saturday.
A gloriously British afternoon of racing is promised by the Westwood Course that will lay on themed entertainment throughout the day on Saturday 24th May.
One of the popular high lights is the Donkey race which is scheduled to go off at 1.25pm with the first of the horse races due to start 2pm.
Kate Mckee from Beverley Racecourse said;
“There will be plenty to do for all the family all day, we have Punch and Judy Shows, Hook a Duck and Coconut Shires.”
“We are encouraging race goers to come dressed up in Red White and Blue and make a real occasion of the day.”
Punters will be able to enjoy Pimms on the lawn, take in cream teas on our open-topped bus, relax to our resident jazz band
Cottingham Parks Golf & Leisure Club’s will be holding a free prize draw you can enter for the chance to win to win a year’s membership.
New for this year is the ‘Best British Themed Outfit’ competition with prizes for the best British outfit on the day.
A thrilling afternoon of racing includes the Brian Yeardley Continental Two Year Old Trophy, showcasing stars of the future.
At the end of the racing there will be a Very British sing-along celebrating all things gloriously British.
