An East Yorkshire garden centre has opened its newly refurbished café in a bid to entice more visitors, not only gardeners but people who want a great day out.
Coletta & Tyson, based in Woodmansey, has completed a major refurbishment of its Oasis Café to transform its garden centre into a “destination”.
The new café features a heritage lounge corner, a dining area aptly named the veg patch, children’s area and interesting views out into the garden centre.
Paul Tyson, of Coletta & Tyson, said:
“At Coletta & Tyson we are proud of our East Yorkshire and Italian heritage and we have tried to reflect that within our menu and cafe. Wherever we can, we have sourced from local and ethical suppliers and all our food is freshly prepared and home-made in our kitchen.”
“We want the centre to be a focal point of the local area, so people of all ages can come here and enjoy an hour or even a morning or afternoon exploring what we have to offer.”
“A real wow factor in the café is the view into the new aquatics room in our pet shop 4pets. The centre is really becoming a destination now rather than just a garden centre. We are extremely proud to have our roots in the region and we will continue to be part of it in the future.”
The café offers family friendly facilities including high chairs, easy pram access and baby changing facilities as well as a well-balanced child’s menu. It also offers children’s lunchboxes as well as the children’s garden dining area where they can colour and enter a colouring competition.
All dishes can be modified to suit the customer’s needs. The café has dairy free options including soya milk as well as a range of gluten free options including gluten free bread, spaghetti and a variety of desserts.
The café is open from 8.30am every day.
