Beverley Braves just lost out in a tight encounter that brought out the best in both teams. The Vikings opened the scoring, but Beverley were soon level after a powerful run from Charlie Brown.
Good individual tries from Alex Argent –Moss, Matthew Cook, Joe Mazingham kept the Braves in touching distance of their opponents, the best try of the bunch being set up by a delightful pass from Connor McCabe.
The second half saw the Vikings step up their game but the Braves never gave up and kept the Vikings working to the very last minute. This determination was fully evident in the play that allowed Kian Harwood to score his first try for Beverley Braves. In the last few minutes, the Braves were not as quick to move their defensive line up to the runner, which allowed the Viking runners to attack with more speed and take the game away from them.
Every player in this mixed age team came off the pitch smiling as their coach congratulated them for one of the most enjoyable matches he could remember. Man of the match was awarded to Alex Argent-Moss for his hat- trick of tries and top tackler went to William Parkinson.
The team consisted of Alex Argent-Moss, Dylan Saunders, Joe Mazingham, Jackamo Seminara, Matthew Cook, Archie Brown, Connor McCabe, Oliver Egan, Charlie Brown, William Parkinson, Ben Shrimpton, Harrison Adams and Kian Harwood.
