The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association is calling on dog owners across East Yorkshire to make their pet pooch a hero for the day by taking part in Dogs Unite.
Pete Osborne, York Guide Dog Owner and manager of the Guide Dogs Mobility Team in Beverley said:
“This isn’t your usual charity fundraising event which asks for a certain level of fitness or sponsorship, this is a unique opportunity to use your family pet and love of dogs to raise vital funds for Guide Dogs.”
Statistics show that dogwalkers spend more than 382 hours walking their pets every year.
Dogs Unite is a series of sponsored dog walks taking place around the country to help Guide Dogs raise money to create more life-changing guide dog partnerships.
The Dogs Unite event in Bridlington promises fantastic fun for all the family and their pet, who can dress up in a special hero cape!
Pete added;
“Through this event the funds raised will enable us to support more people with sight loss to lead confident, independent lives on their own terms.”
Dogs and their humans are invited to take part in a sponsored walk on Saturday 14th June from Bridlington to Sewerby Hall to raise vital funds for visually impaired people.
Registration will take place at Limekiln Lane car park from 10:30am and will costs £3 per adult to register through our Beverley office 0845 3727414.
Participants are also welcome to raise money through sponsorship and can either print off their own forms or get them from our local office.
