Beer, Food And The First Beverley Ale Festival Pie!

Beverley Food Festival and Beverley Real Ale Festival have joined forces for the second year running for what promises to be the most successful Beverley real ale Festival and Beverley Food Festivals.

Festival organiser James Harper of Harper Creative Ltd said:

“We can officially announce that 2 of the town’s most celebrated festivals will again join forces to provide a food and drink extravaganza that promises to pull in thousands of visitors to Beverley and surrounding area.”

The Beverley Real Ale festival organised by local company Ale Festival UK, has become widely recognised as a top regional festival.

Moved to the Beverley Memorial Hall in 2013 the festival will again be held in the newly refurbished venue, which provides a perfect base for the ever-popular real ale and cider festival.

The successful move in 2013 to link the Beverley Real Ale Festival to the same weekend as the Beverley Food Festival was a huge success and provided the town with a weekend destination event, which was great for local tourism.

James added;

“Beer and food is a match made in heaven! With the popularity and increase in new, complex and interesting brews, there is no reason why you can’t match a pint of your favourite local ale with some locally sourced good food.”

“It was great last year listening to customers talking about the ales and ciders they had tried and raving about the Food Festival and the great produce they had tried and purchased.”

“This year we want to step it up a notch and really build on the links with the Food Festival, one of the things we are most excited about is our partnership with the award-winning Yorkshire company Andrew Jones Pies Ltd.”

“As the Beverley Real Ale Festival’s 2014 main sponsor Andrew Jones Pies Ltd will have their fantastic range of pies available for punters to buy whilst trying the ales and cider.”

Jacqui Etherington from Andrew Jones Pies Ltd said:

“Andrew Jones Pies Ltd is delighted to be involved with the Beverley Real Ale Festival.”

“As a Yorkshire business making multi Award Winning Pork Pies and Pies, we want to encourage links between great local ales and great local pies, a perfect combination.”

“We are looking forward to seeing just how far we can take the link by developing some special recipes for the Weekend in October. We have done this with local cheese and Chilli Jam producers. ”

The Beverley Town Council Beverley Food Festival, now in its 9th year, winner of the East Yorkshire Local Food Network, Best Local Food Event 2013 and finalist in the Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourists Awards 2013 and 2014, takes place on Sunday 5th October.

The Food Festival is a very popular event within the town and attracts upwards of around twenty thousand residents and visitors to the family day of local food, festivities and fun.

Beverley Food Festival showcases the best food and drink the area has to offer, with free cookery demonstrations from renowned chefs of the Beverley area.

Helen Watson from Beverley Town Council said;

“Beverley Town Council is delighted to be working with The Real Ale Festival for a second year. The Real Ale Festival adds another dimension to the Food Festival.”

“We try to add a different element to the Food Festival each year, to keep it interesting. This year we will also be working with the Beverley Literature Festival, who will be hosting some events with food theme.”

The Beverley Real Ale Festival takes place from the 3rd to the 5th of October, and the Beverley Food Festival takes place on the 5th of October.

Tickets are now on sale for the Beverley Real Ale Festival. They can be purchased from the website and will soon be available from the Beverley Tourist Information Centre. Festival organisers are expecting another sell out, which gives confidence in increasing the amount of beers on offer.

With the support from East Yorkshires Great Newsome Brewery the festival is hoping to serve an increased number of locally brewed beers along side a fantastic selection from mainly Yorkshire breweries. There will also be a dedicated Cider Bar with craft ciders from across the UK.
