Fisher Left Disappointed As Rain Prevents Play

Jonathan Fisher was left disappointed after bad weather saw a total wash out in the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League.

Beverley were hoping to build on last weeks success when in Fisher Absence Anthony Spence took control of the side and winning 27 points away to York.

Heavy rain through the night and throughout most of the day meant there was not only no play at the Norwood Recreation Ground or at any of the other fixtures.

Fisher was hopeful of some play saying; “If there will be any play anywhere in the league it will be here at Norwood.”

With no break in the weather and the pitch too wet to play officials had little choice to abandon the match resulting in Beverley Town earning 15 championship points.

Beverley Town Cricket Club who are enjoying a good run of form and are currently second in the league will have to hope for better weather next weekend.

Fisher and his team will hit the road on Saturday and face Stamford Bridge where they will be hoping for a repeat of their recent heroics away to York.
