A group that is against shale gas mining, known as Fracking are to hold a public information meeting this week at Toll Gavel Church.
For the past few weeks, protesters have been camped out in Walkington as they look to protect the local community from companies who they feel are planning to Frack for gas in the area.
Presentations will be given that show the extreme impact caused by fossil fuel extraction, the dmage it has caused in other countries and the impact it has had on water supplies.
Prime Minister David Cameron has already given his support to the exploration of Shale Gas saying that Fracking is the way ahead.
The meeting in Beverley will give residents the chance to learn more about the process that has been criticised by environmental groups the world over.
Proceedings start at 7.30pm with the meeting scheduled to last for just over two hours.
