Energy Technology Centre Launch Celebrated By MP

Graham Stuart Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, joined business people and energy technology training providers from across the region to launch East Riding College’s completely new Energy Technology Centre.

The Centre, which forms part of the Flemingate development in Beverley, offers a state of the art facility for the expanding UK energy market.

Speaking at the launch event at the Tickton Grange Hotel Graham cited the £2.8 million investment as the cornerstone of the Humber LEP’s vision of the Humber region as an “Energy Estuary” that will give a plethora of beneficial services to local firms, supporting job generation and growing the renewable energy sector.

In his speech Graham said,

“In almost a decade as an East Yorkshire MP, I cannot recall a time when the prospects for Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire have felt so bright, or when there has been so much positive momentum.”

Talking about the launch of the new centre Graham stated:

“This state of the art training and research centre will play a vital role in the emerging off-shore wind industry; bringing more good news on the back of the recent investment announcement from Siemens and ABP.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the energy industry flourish along the banks of the Humber Estuary, creating local job opportunities, increasing new skills and boosting the economy.”
