Beverley Town Dynamos U10s represented Yorkshire & North East in the National Futsal finals in Birmingham at the weekend and did themselves proud against some of the countries top Futsal teams.
Drawn in a group that saw them face opposition from Everton, Mansfield, Nottingham & Torquay the Dynamos played to a very high standard resulting in them winning all four group games to top League A .
They were then paired against a dedicated Futsal outfit from London at the semi-final stage and prepared themselves for their toughest task yet. Not phased by the class of the opposition Town took their opponents to task early on, and a blistering long range strike from Jacob Galloway put them 1-0 ahead. However, one goal was never going to be enough as Escolla turned on the style with three goals without reply as the Dynamos tired.
At the end, the Dynamos were out on their feet, and their race was run, but not before receiving a standing ovation from all spectators for a valiant effort.
They were reminded by David Henson, Chairman of the FA Small Sided Football Committee that they had played to a great standard all through and had achieved Top 4 status in their age group from a year-long tournament that had seen 1,700 teams start out across all age groups UK wide – a fantastic compliment to our club not to be under stated.
Manager John Galloway commented;
“We have had a long fantastic journey adapting to a football format that was alien to us all those months back. I am extremely proud of all my players to have come this far and represented their county with great endeavour and pride.”
“In the final game we were always going to be up against it playing a team that plays Futsal and nothing else all season long! They were a class act and deserved their win.”
“This team experience that saw all players and parents involved in the event is priceless, the many accolades and memories of which will stay with the players forever.”
