Organisers of the Beverley Folk Festival have issued a statement thanking people after they raised over £600 from donations.
Held at Beverley Racecourse in June the Folk Festival featured a number of top acts, including the cheeky cockney duo Chase & Dave alongside a host of entertainment that included local acts.
The statement released by the organisers of the music event said;
“Beverley Folk Festival would like to send a very big thank you to everyone who made cash donations to the street collectors during the festival weekend.”
“The total amount collected was a staggering £ 656.35. We are extremely touched by the generosity and support the public gave this year to The Beverley Folk Festival which remains a not for profit organisation.”
“Donations were collected on Saturday & Sunday June 2014 in Beverley Town on behalf of the Beverley Folk Festival by Granted Permit Holder, Stuart Higson.”
For over 30 years, the Beverley Folk Festival has been producing an annual weekend event to be remember offering the best new performers alongside some of the greatest established acts.
The event continues to provide a unique opportunity to spot tomorrow’s stars and enjoy today’s greats at a local festival with a national and international appeal.
