BBC Need Help In Tracing Family Members Of Deaf Couple

See Hear  the BBC’s programme for deaf and hard of hearing audiences is searching for friends or relatives of Beverley deaf couple Duncan and Nesta McKenzie (née Holgate) who married at Beverley Minster on 1st June 1940.

Pamela McIntyre a researcher for See Hear said;

“We have found a video clip of the wedding, which you can watch here and would love to speak to anyone who has any memories of the wedding, or the couple themselves.”

“We know that Duncan was a showman who performed in the area, and that they both attended Hull’s Deaf and Dumb Institute regularly.”

“Unfortunately both Duncan and Nesta have now passed away but we are hoping to make a film that celebrates their life together as a deaf couple.”

Anybody with any information please do contact pamela.mcintyre@bbc.co.uk or call 07753 566922 by Friday as they will be filming next week at Beverley Minster.
