Sport, Play and Arts Service have introduced a National Football Initiative locally. Walking Football sessions will take place at Longcroft Upper School’s artificial 3G pitch, every Wednesday, starting from 23 July. The sessions begin at 11am until 12noon and will continue for the duration of the summer holidays.

A small cost cost £2.50 per person is charged per session and supported by the East Riding County FA through the Mars Just Play National Scheme.

Walking Football sessions are targeted for people over 50 and aim to provide fun, sociable football games and skills, that will improve fitness for those who maybe previously played and would really like a chance to get their boots on once again enjoy playing our national sport.

Each of the games will be led by Adam Gibson from the Sport, Play and Arts Service who will provide casual organised walking football games and accommodate various fitness levels, providing low to mid intensity matches ideal for those who haven’t played for a long time or would just like to get fitter and meet new people.

Prior sessions have proven extremely successful. Regardless of what skill or fitness level you are we would highly recommend you give Walking Football a try!
