Family Fun Day To Be Held At Bishop Burton College

As part of the European Junior Championships competitors from all over Europe will be participating in the cross country phase of the event which is being hosted by Bishop Burton College.

Happening this weekend from the 14th -17th August people are welcome to come along and enjoy a family fun day that is being held on Saturday 16th August.

Communications and Events Co-ordinator Helena Barnett said;

“The cross country is the second stage of the competition and the purpose built course at Bishop Burton will prove both exciting and challenging for horse & rider.”

“As well as the main equestrian event visitors will also be able to take part and enjoy lots of family orientated activities and displays.”

“These will Include a dog show, bouncy castles, children’s activities, farm machinery and of course, our animal management units, which include our otters, meerkats, lemurs & reptiles house.”

“Visitors are also able to take part in a feeding experience with these unusual animals. Pre- booking is advised for these hands-on experiences, which will take place throughout the day with a knowledgeable keeper who will show you how to prepare & distribute food to the animals.”

“The newly redesigned walled garden will also be open for visitors to browse with tours conducted by the College’s gardening team during the day.”

“Equine displays will be taking place in our Olympic standard Bishop Burton arena including thrilling, fast paced horse ball competition and a quadrille ride performed with retrained racehorses. “

“Visitors are free to bring a picnic & enjoy the College’s countryside surroundings or pick up a bite to eat from one of our many catering outlets open throughout the day, including our Veuve Cliquot champagne tent, situated next to the water jump, with views over the cross country course. “

Gates open 10.30am and admission is just £10 per car.
