With only a few weeks left to go before the doors open to the 3rd Beverley Real Ale festival, festival organisors are expecting yet another sell out with record numbers of real ale and cider revelers visiting the festival over the three days.
Since joining forces with the Beverley Food Festival organisors have been keen to develop a more foodie feel to the celebrations and for this year’s festival they have done just that with the special Beverley Ale Festival Pies.
The creation of the pies is from a collaboration between two firm Yorkshire favorites; Andrew Jones Pies and Great Newsome Brewery that have come together to create two stunning pies that are guaranteed to be a hit with beer and cider lovers attending this year’s festival.
Matthew from Great Newsome Brewery said;
“What could be a more pie-fect match, beer and pies.” “ We are extremely excited and looking forward to sampling the pies made with our award-winning Frothingham Best and Sleck Dust by a pie maker with such a reputation for such quality as Andrew Jones Pies”
Ale inspired pies will be on sale throughout the festival and will be available to take home. Andrew Jones Pies that are also this year’s main festival sponsors are no strangers to creating unique and interesting pies born out of collaboration.
Earlier this year they won ‘Best in Class’ at the British Pie Awards for their Jerk Pork Pie, so we are expecting great things from these new pie creations.
Jacqui Etherington from Andrew Jones Pies Ltd said:
“Andrew Jones Pies Ltd are delighted to be launching new pies for the Beverley Real Ale Festival. First up we have our Handmade Steak and Ale pie made with Frothingham Best, plus we are excited to be experimenting with our Handmade traditional pork pie flavoured with Sleck Dust.”
“Both pies are delicious and the perfect match for beer drinking!” As well as the new pies our Pork Pie range containing fine ingredients will be available at the Festival, including Yorkshire Blue Cheese, Shaws Chill Jam and Black Pudding”
Along with the official launch of the pies, final preparations are underway to make this year’s festival bigger and better than ever. This includes a much wider range of cask ales from across Yorkshire and a special assortment from the south west.
More ciders will be on offer this year and for the first time the Beverley Real Ale festival will have craft keg and lager selection from the likes of Daleside brewery, Brass castle and Wold Top.
Festival organisers are again expecting another sell out for both the Friday and Saturday evening sessions. Tickets have been selling fast than in previous years and there is only a limited number left for the popular evening sessions.
James Harper festival organiser explained;
“This year we have made more tickets available for people to buy in advance. We have also made it easier for people to get tickets with both online sales and in person from the Beverley Tourist Information center and the Beer in a Bottle shop.”
“There are still tickets available for both evening sessions, but we advise punters to get in fast to avoid disappointment. This year we again have the special Friday afternoon session, the much-loved Saturday afternoon session and the Sunday Food Festival session.”
“So there are plenty of opportunities to come along, pick up your new souvenir Beverley ale festival 2014 tankard, try the wonderful ales and ciders and eat some cracking food! In addition to the pie, beer and cider there is yet again another packed schedule of great music and children are welcome to come along on any of the afternoon sessions”
