Beverley RUFC Host Burnage This Saturday At Beaver Park

Beverley RUFC will welcome Burnage RUFC to Beaver Park this Saturday as the clubs go head to head in the National North League 3.

So far, this season Beverley has failed to register a win, going down to Morley and more recently Lymm, results that have left them at the foot of the table.

Burnage comes into the game with one win under their but were also beaten last weekend as they went down 20-34 at home to Billingham.

Last time the sides met was back in March when Beverley turned on the class to run out 44-22 winners, a similar result and performance will no doubt be welcomed by the fans.

Director of Rugby Junior Tupai said

“We were slow out of the blocks on Saturday. Stuck on the M62 due to road works unsettled some people but we can’t use that as an excuse. We were defensively poor in the first game and that mental side of things need fixing if we are to clinch our first win”.

Beverley have conceded over 70 points already this season and looks to be an area the team can look to improve.

Tupai continued saying;

“We need to have that desire to want to be strong defensively. Beaver Park has always been a difficult place for teams to travel to and that fortress needs rebuilding if we want any chance of staying in this league”.

Elsewhere in the league the top two, Morley and Waterloo go head to head, both have 100% records with Morley in the top spot on Points Difference.

Kick off at Beaver Park is 3pm.
