Lord Nelson boss Terry Jackson is hoping lady luck will shine on his side this Saturday as they face Beverley Town Reserves in the big weekend derby.
Currently in ninth place in the East Riding County League, a win for the Lord Nelson would see them go above their local rivals from Norwood.
Jackson who guided his side to championship glory and a cup final last season speaking ahead of the game said;
“I do not have much to say really about the game other than all the lads are up and ready for it and hope our luck goes our way this week.”
“After the last couple of weeks with referees bad decisions and woodwork we could do a with something going our way, that said I hope it’s a good well contested derby.”
“When I look at their team, I am not worried. They do not have any big names like John Burnett and Neil Silvester there anymore.”
Matty Littlefield is serving a ban so will miss the match as will Joe Green, who is away on duty with the armed forces in Las Vegas.
The Lord Nelson has had a tough time since stepping up two leagues, but the gaffer thinks they have been very unlucky to not have won the games they have lost.
Jackson said;
“Both the matches we lost we should have won, lady luck was just not on our side. Everyone at the football club is looking forward to the game, derby’s are always very special.”
Saturday will provide the perfect opportunity for Terry and his team to register what would be their second win of the season and of course the bragging rights.
