Celebrated Hungarian pianist Adam Gyorgy is performing at Beverley Minster on Saturday October 25th, showcasing music by Liszt and his own composition ‘A Day in New York’.
He will also make his debut appearance on 23 October on BBC Radio 3 In Tune, where he will give a live performance and speak about his work.
In 2012 Adam Gyorgy was catapulted onto the world stage when he opened EURO 2012, the UEFA European Football Championship in Warsaw, with a unique interpretation of Chopin’s Winterwind, mixed by DJ Karmatronic (who has worked with the likes of Beyoncé), which was broadcast live to an audience of 300 million across the globe.
Regarded as one of the finest Liszt players and a Liszt ambassador in his birth country of Hungary, Adam Gyorgy’s recitals have been described by the New York Times as sensitive, playful, elegant and warm.
Following performances at New York’s Carnegie Hall and Manhattan hangout Le Poisson Rouge, this autumn the celebrated Hungarian pianist will mark his debut UK tour from 10th-26th October, with concerts that come at the end of a 2014 world tour that has taken him to Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, the US and Europe.
