The York Waits and Deborah Catterall perform Ancient Music for the Festive Season on Friday 12th December at 7.30 pm in St Mary’s Church, Beverley.
This seasonal concert includes many familiar and much loved Christmas pieces, restored to their original medieval and renaissances splendour and played on a wide range of period instruments.
The acoustic at St Mary’s will ring to the grandeur of shawms, sackbuts, curtals, consorts of recorders, crumhorns, the rustic charm of historic bagpipes, hurdy gurdy, fiddles, and the intimate strings on lute, harp, gittern.
Songs and carols from around Europe will be sung by the York Waits‘ regular guest, Deborah Catterall, who has recorded three albums with the group during their long association.
A share of the profits from this concert will go towards the St. Mary’s Church Restoration Appeal
